Postdoctoral Scholar
Dat Tran received his MS from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and his PhD from Linköping University, Sweden. For his MS, he worked on developing spin field-effect transistors (FETs) using In(Ga)As nanowires. During his PhD, he addressed the self-heating issue in power devices by studying the thermal transport properties of semiconductor device structures. He particularly explored the roles of different types of defects in the thermal conductivity of III-nitrides and other ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors. Currently, his research interests include device-level thermal management through integration with diamond for power and RF devices.
